Preschool

A stage that marks
the beginning of school life.

Play, respect, autonomy, and self-awareness.

Some have already left their family environment in preschool, while for others, it’s the first time they face a new environment surrounded by strangers. Therefore, our priority is to promote a welcoming, calm, respectful and affectionate atmosphere. We want to provide students with the necessary security so that over these three years, they gain enough autonomy, develop respect for their peers and surroundings, and keep their curiosity awake, allowing them to feel really comfortable with the transition to Elementary School.

In Infant, everything is worked transversally. The day is divided into seven different moments:

  • Welcome Free play and assembly
  • Directed activity
  • Recess During recess they have various games available to them, we always try to offer them materials that awaken their imagination (from boxes, cones, etc.). During this time, they also have fruit at their disposal.
  • Dining room + recess + rest We find a moment for them to relax after eating and, for those who need it, they can sleep for a while. Above all, 3 and 4 year old students usually sleep between 45 minutes and 1 and a half hours.
  • Directed activity
  • Recess and outing

Our day to day

We work with a wide variety of methodologies, sometimes promoting autonomous work, other times small group work, other times active listening as well as dynamic group participation, always based on topics related to them (the family, the body, the animals, jobs…). Some of the directed activities that we should highlight are:

Daily classes in English
We introduce English with native teachers and through games, songs and stories that capture their interest and expand their vocabulary. In addition, they live with the teachers at all times of the school day.
Stroke development
We give great importance to activities focused on the development of the line, the basis for later reading and writing. In addition, we also introduce games with words close to them, to awaken their love of reading and writing.
We introduce mathematics
With very manipulative games, we use logic blocks and rulers so that they begin to establish relationships between them, make their first hypotheses and put the appropriate words to their discoveries.
We take great care of everything they learn, always trying to go to the primary source
For example, encouraging direct observation of the environment. Frequently, we go out to paint from life to understand the world around us.
We enjoy experiencing
We do experiments in class, draw conclusions together, cook, and take care of the garden at all ages.
We prepare exhibitions at home
They frequently present a topic (their family, the characteristics of their favorite animal, their treasures...) to the rest of their classmates.
Guided, free games, role-playing or imitation
We allocate a large part of the day to these types of activities, they prepare them for later learning.
Weekly psychomotor class
In addition to helping them in their physical development, it develops team play and helps children begin to assimilate the concept of winning and losing.
Weekly theater class
They dramatize popular stories, participate in invented stories, design and invent their favorite characters.
weekly puppet performance
It allows us to stage their conflicts and be able to delve deeper into them. For us, puppets are a fantastic tool for emotional support and the development of their first social relationships based on respect.
We promote cultural outings and nature walks
To understand the world and create connections.
